So, ever so slightly over 7 hours but we’ll class it as a mid-haul destination, after all some people do go to NYC for a long weekend. This is a beautiful time of year to get out and explore the city as the days cool down from the extreme heat of summer and the huge crowds on their annual holidays have departed. There is so much to do, you’ll be spoilt for choice…

Highlights

  • There is plenty to do outdoors; Central Park is truly magical during ‘the fall’, walk the High Line, get out on the water to visit the Statue of Liberty or Ellis Island, or catch one of the last baseball games of the season.
  • When things start to get a little cooler at the end of the season, there are lots of indoor options; some of the best museums in the world, cosy coffee shops, glamorous bars and earthy pubs.
  • If you happen to be there on 31st October, you may want to check out THE Halloween parade – the largest in the USA with 60,000 participants and millions of spectators. There are 100’s of puppets, numerous bands, dancers and artists.
