After a relatively short flight, you’ll feel like you’re in a different world! A city of contrasts – from the crowded souks during the day and the bustling main square (Jemaa el-Fnaa) at night, to the calm of a hammam or tranquil garden – your senses will wonder what has hit them! Autumn is a fantastic time of year to visit Marrakech, even in November the days are warm and although the nights are cooler it’s still comfortable outside.

Highlights:

  • The Jardin Majorelle was created by the French painter Jacques Majorelle and is a riot of bright blues, yellows, cacti and greenery in the middle of this arid land. Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé bought the Jardin Majorelle in 1980 and saved it from becoming a hotel complex. The fashion designer said that he found great inspiration from the garden and dreamt about the unique colours.
  • The Palacio da Bahia is a good place to cool down and take in some of the beautiful architecture.
  • You can’t visit Marrakech without visiting the souks, but after you’ve been in the hustle and bustle you may need a little R&R, so head to a hammam and wash away your stresses.
  • Take a trip up into the Atlas Mountains and feel like you’re a world away from everything.
