Highlights

  • The Hungarian Parliament Building is simply stunning – cross the Danube to the Buda side or take a river tour to appreciate it fully. You can tour the interior of the building too although tickets must be purchased in advance.
  • For a magical winter wonderland experience make your way to Europe’s largest ice-skating rink set on the frozen boating lake.
  • Warm up with some Hungarian food and wine. Check out the Tokaji (pronounced Tok-eye) – it comes in sweet and dry varieties – you may just have to try both!
  • If you’re there for Christmas, then visit the famous Christmas fair on Vörösmarty Square, the oldest in Budapest.
