This is a great place to start your trip around Singapore, to give you a background to this young country and an insight into the national psyche. It’s also fully air conditioned if you need a break from the heat! Although it is the oldest museum in Singapore, dating back to 1849, it’s far from being old and dull. The exhibits are presented in innovative ways and it definitely offers a twist on your standard museum experience. Shortly after entering the museum, you will find yourself stood in the middle of a large, darkened room, whilst a massive video montage of everyday life in Singapore plays to rousing music. And that’s just the start of your visit…!
